Tichi Wilkerson Kassel (1926-2004) founded Women In Film in 1973 while she was a Publisher and Editor-In-Chief of The Hollywood Reporter. She knew firsthand how limited opportunities were for women in the entertainment industry, and was determined to enact change. Now there are many chapters around the world, including WiFT Alabama.

What We Do

WiFT Alabama will offer a comprehensive program of seminars and workshops catering to all levels and areas of the industry, in order to expand members' knowledge and nurture professional competency. WiFT Alabama will host networking events monthly, which provide an opportunity to meet other professional women in the field, enjoy each other's company, expand contacts, and set aside time to celebrate our skills and accomplishments. WiFT Alabama will announce discounts, resources, and other benefits on a regular basis throughout the year for members.

COVID-19 Update: Chapters and Branches will work together to ensure the safety of our Members and Board. All remaining 2020 activities will be virtual.

WiFT Alabama is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization recently been established. It is a membership organization that consists of women in the Film, Television, and Digital Media Industry.
