What is WIFT?
The first WIF network (Women in Film LA) was established in Los Angeles in the 70’s as a reaction to male dominance in the film industry. Today, there are around 50 WIFT and WIFT-partner chapters on six continents – all working for the same goal: gender balance in the industry.
WIFT was established as the global network connecting all others to speak with one common voice. The strength of WIFTI is based on the strength coming from every member of every chapter all around the world. Together we make a change!
The three pillars that inspire the work of WIFT are:
Connect all members
Share knowledge, experiences and industry information
Be seen and acknowledged
What is WIFT-Alabama?
Bunny Watts-Burroughs is the Founder of the First Women and Film and Television Chapter in the state of Alabama. WiFT Alabama is headquartered in Mobile, with Branches in Montgomery WiFT, Dothan WiFT, and Birmingham WiFT. WiFT is an internationally recognized organization that Bunny is proud to bring to the state to empower everyone to work and find professional jobs in the entertainment industry.
It’s important that people in the south know there are more opportunities than the last minute opportunity to work as an extra, but professional opportunities to audition for speaking roles and crew opportunities, no matter who you are.
